OCTOBER

Welcome Jeweler David Pritchard
See his wonderful collection of new jewelry.

Thursday, October 15th, Gallery Night Reception
5:00-9:00pm

David Pritchard's handcrafted metalwork reflects the spontaneous spirit and aesthetic tradition of his home in the American Southwest. Contemporary compositions in brass, copper, sterling silver, gold and semi-precious stones, each unique design combines abstract form with wearable function. His award-winning bracelets, rings, belt buckles and more have been exhibited and juried coast-to-coast for over 30 years.

Pritchard's signature style is self-taught and organically enmeshed in every one-of-a-kind piece he creates.

JUNE

Infigo: Works by Betty Harrington

June 18, Gallery Night Reception
5:00-9:00pm

The INFIGO series reflects on some of the earliest signs and symbols which had been scratched onto bones or painted onto cave walls by prehistoric artists.

Many of these symbolic marks have survived their journey through time to become part of our knowledge of the past and integrated into our common culture.

Shows runs through July 12th.

JANUARY–FEBRUARY

She's My Valentine
Works by Painter Daniel Kelley

January 15, Opening night reception 5:00-9:00pm
Show runs January 15 - March 16, 2009

Capturing the feeling, spirit and emotion of women on canvas is my gift.
Making a connection between my work and the viewer is my goal.

As a Rhode Island native, I grew up loving to sail and paint, so one would expect to see typical New England subject matter like boats and light houses. Instead, my interests have always centered around the figure. I started painting at the age of 14 and have been captivated by light and line, especially as it defines the body. It accentuates some parts and almost hides others. For years I have worked with different techniques and styles depending on the way in which I see my subject. Sometimes I like to use a pallet knife and thick heavy oil paint and other times I work with acrylic to achieve the look I am after. Whatever the technique my goal is to make a connection between a work of art and the viewer. For every work, there is a person who will have an appreciation for what the artist is trying to communicate. This connection is what I work for–the moment when my work sparks a feeling, and engages the viewer.
