Biography | << back
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Luz Maria Charlita de Sanz graduated as an architect from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and practiced in Venezuela and Spain.
Before starting her career she felt a special attraction for the small details in designing that moved her to explore more with glass, fabrics and wood; creating interesting art pieces. In Seville, Spain the richness in details of the Moorish influence reflected in architecture, object and art, determined her interest in the metal works.
Back in Venezuela she began creating bracelets, earrings and necklaces at workshops with Urci Galleti and Christian Gramcko.
In her creations you can see the fusion of the architect and the artist, reflecting the search for harmony between techniques and nature’s elements. Using fossils, semi-precious stones and rough stones, which combined with precious metals and other noble elements, result in unique pieces with shapes and colors combining classic and modern with special sobriety. The inspiration of each piece is provided by main elements which guide her hands towards the final creation.
Luz Maria Charlita de Sanz lives in Caracas, Venezuela.
