Biography | << back
Known for representing the leading talents in contemporary Native art, 17 Peck is proud to announce the addition of Nocona Burgess (Comanche) to our stable of premier artists. Born into one of the most noble of American Indian lineages, the acclaimed painter is the great-great grandson of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker.
Burgess’ artistic voice has been heard far outside the boundaries of the Southwest he calls home, appearing with his works in Belgium, Holland, and Germany as part of the touring exhibit They Called Us Indians. He continues to gain significant recognition having been selected as the cover artist for the August, 2006 Indian Market Issue of the Santa Fean magazine, in addition to earning top awards and exhibition honors at the Eiteljorg Museum, Santa Fe Indian Market, Heard Museum, and other premier venues.
Nocona Burgess’ original masterpieces are exclusively presented on the east coast for viewing and acquisition at the Gallery at 17 Peck.
