17 Peck is proud to present the pottery of Glen Nipshank (Big Stone Cree), an accomplished artist who embraces the spiritual teachings, traditional designs, and techniques of the Cree, Pueblo, and Hopi people.
Glen has worked as a professional craft artist since 1984, specializing in the creation of contemporary pottery works using traditional firing techniques. His award-winning hand-thrown clay vessels feature painted Native American designs and images, and have been featured in the finest venues throughout Canada and the United States, including the Eiteljorg Museum, Heard Museum, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Recognition of Glen Nipshank’s Suggestive Form in Clay is gaining national momentum as a featured artist of the Museum of Arts and Design’s Changing Hands: Art Without Reservation 2. The touring exhibition focuses “on artists who are pushing the boundaries, establishing new parameters and goals for their art, and laying the groundwork for a revised critical history of their field.”
