MARCH 2007
Jody Naranjo Announces Providence Premiere
Art Collectors and Native lifestyle enthusiasts, alike, are flocking to newsstands world-wide to purchase their very own copy, while the Master Potter, herself, signed copies during her sell-out exhibition at the Heard Museum Indian Market. Magazine editor Daniel Gibson predicts this edition to be one of the most coveted issues Native Peoples has published – alongside the August 2003 issue (which has become a prized possession among collectors who can find an original copy), as it featured Jody Naranjo, and other 17 Peck Artists Melanie Kirk-Lente, and Ed NoiseCat as three of the Top 5 Santa Fe Indian Market Artists.
Collectors from Europe, Japan, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, New York, New Jersey, and Vermont are already making travel arrangements to attend Jody Naranjo's premiere at 17 Peck on May 17, 2007. Those on the Santa Fe Art Scene are especially looking forward to the show, as Naranjo has announced that she is already creating new pottery works specifically for unveiling at 17 Peck – collectors seeking her larger, museum-caliber pots will find them at the Providence gallery.
17 Peck Artists Earn Top Awards at Heard Museum Indian Market
Riding high on the heels of her recent addition to 17 Peck's roster of premier artists, Navajo Fashion Designer Penny Singer wowed the masses (again), as she introduced her Spring 2007 line of garments for men and women. She was overwhelmed by the high volume of collectors – some of whom traveled from Japan to purchase anything of Singer's.
17 Peck's Fritz J. Casuse Earns Multiple Top Awards at Heard Show
The Diné artist's museum-caliber, contemporary jewelry works impressed the crowds and judges, alike, while taking home several awards. COLLECTORS FYI: Casuse is already finishing new works for premiere at 17 Peck this spring! Contact Gallery Director Daniel Kelley for additional information: dimensions, precious metal/gem component, etc.
